New Screwworm Infested Zone Established Near San Angelo After Dog Tests Positive

State animal health officials have established a new New World screwworm infested zone in parts of Sutton and Schleicher counties after the parasite was detected in a dog. The case marks the third confirmed instance of a dog being infected since the flesh-eating parasite reappeared in the United States this year.
