Wednesday Morning Standoff At Oak Grove Apartments

Shooting suspect found dead after barricading himself in Oak Grove Senior Apartments building after a standoff on Wednesday. SAPD Chief Travis Griffith identified the shooter as Juan Badillo. Chief Griffith says the 69-year-old died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The San Angelo SWAT team, hostage negotiation team and criminal investigation division all joined the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office SRT team during the standoff.
Meanwhile, during the incident, the area surrounding the senior apartments had been evacuated.
