Texas Leaders Respond to Death Of Former President Jimmy Carter

Texas leaders are noting the death of former President Jimmy Carter on Sunday at the age of 100.  Governor Greg Abbott sent his condolences to the Carter family, erroneously including former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, who is deceased. Former President George W. Bush, Senator John Cornyn, and Senator Ted Cruz also issued statements of condolence, noting Carter’s service in the Navy and the Georgia governor’s mansion, and his humanitarian efforts.  Carter was the last Democrat to carry Texas in a presidential race.
