Fort Concho will host a free 19th century penmanship class on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Officers’ Quarters 8 at 215 East Avenue D, open to participants aged 10 and up. Led by Sarah Ross, the class will explore the history and significance of penmanship in 1800s America, how handwriting has evolved, and its importance before the advent of typewriters and computers.
