San Angelo State Park has welcomed several new bison calves to its herd this year. Along with their introduction though comes increased concern about their ability to provide the herds with natural food sources.
Amid dry conditions, the bison have less grass on which to graze, so they receive a supplemented food source supply from officials to ensure health and growth. Park officials are working on plans to add more grass and roughage to provide for the herds this season and beyond.
