The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees have named Dr. Christopher Moran,
a 32-year veteran educator and Whitehouse ISD’s current superintendent,
the lone finalist for Superintendent of the San Angelo school district during
the board meeting Monday evening. Dr. Moran will replace Dr. Carl Dethloff
as superintendent, a position he has held since July 2015. Dr. Dethloff
will retire as superintendent at the end of December following a 33-year career
serving Texas public schools. The Board of Trustees will vote on Moran after the
state-mandated 21-day waiting period. While in Whitehouse ISD, Dr. Moran
prioritized student learning and readiness and safety and well-being by implementing
a District-Wide Curriculum Management Tool, aligned curriculum for
pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, updated professional learning communities
for educators, and a comprehensive school safety program.
