Yesterday was the first day of early voting for the November 7th
Constitutional Amendment Election, and local voters identified a
discrepancy in the printed vote records they received after printing
their cast ballot. Officials say when a voter voted “For” on all but
three of the amendments, the printed record showed the word
“FORAGAINST” instead of the word “FOR.”
Votes were counted correctly, but the printed record did not show
the correct language. Staff immediately worked to correct it and
it was resolved by 11:30 a.m. Early voting is being conducted this week
at the Edd B. and Francis Frink Keyes Building, in the election office,
at 113 West Beauregard.
