Yesterday Tom Green County Commissioners approved a resolution
supporting the move to renovate and expand the Foster Communications
Coliseum. The cost to renovate would be several million dollars and would have
to be approved through a bond election. The three entities involved, the City,
County and Stock Show officials will be negotiating and coming up with a
proposal to go before county voters. The bond proposal is tentatively set at
about 30 million dollars to be voted on in May. Improvements included would be
additional seating, expanded restrooms, and ADA improvements to meet
the increasing demand from events.
