Local TxDoT officials say the city’s Main Street bridge has been
reopened, after having been damaged in September by an
excavator on the trailer of a truck going underneath the overpass on
September 16th. The opening follows an inspection by the agency’s
bridge division. They determined that the bridge was safe for normal
vehicle travel. The bridge still has load restrictions, according to officials,
and repairs are still needed, which will close lanes on US 67 when underway.
