The San Angelo community rallied with the San Angelo School District
to inspire a love of reading at the 3rd Annual San Angelo READS! Day
last week. The district invited special guest readers at elementary schools.
The annual day, now in its third year, was created as a celebration in support of
the SAISD’s community-wide literacy initiative, San Angelo READS! It was
founded by the District in 2020 to promote and encourage reading, and the SAISD
future-ready learner profile attributes among SAISD students and the greater San
Angelo community. Statistics show how vital literacy is to provide all
students with the opportunities to succeed at a young age.
