San Angelo Man Hospitalized, Jailed After Alleged Home Burglary and Fight

A San Angelo man is facing a burglary charge after an altercation inside a North Bishop Street home left him hospitalized. Investigators say 42-year-old Luis Vaquera entered the residence without permission and began fighting with the 35-year-old homeowner after a confrontation at the front door. Witnesses told police Vaquera forced his way inside and attacked the resident, while Vaquera claims he was struck in the head before entering the home. Officers found evidence indicating much of the fight happened inside the residence. Vaquera suffered head injuries and was taken to Shannon Medical Center before being booked into the Tom Green County Jail. He is charged with burglary of a habitation and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
