Texas DPS is increasing patrols statewide ahead of Memorial Day as part of its All‑American Enforcement Campaign. From May 11 through May 25, troopers will focus on seat belt enforcement, speeding, impaired driving, and the Move Over or Slow Down law. DPS says last year’s campaign resulted in more than 156,000 citations and warnings. Officials stress that drivers must slow down or change lanes when approaching emergency vehicles. Violations can result in fines up to $1,250. DPS urges drivers to buckle up, avoid distractions, and plan ahead during the busy travel period.
