Tom Green County Set to Appoint Chad Decker to Commissioner Role

Tom Green County commissioners will vote Tuesday on appointing Chad Decker to fill the unexpired Precinct 2 commissioner term following his primary election win. Decker won the Republican nomination with just over 60% of the vote and is unopposed in November, prompting county leaders to consider swearing him in early rather than waiting until 2027. The position has been vacant since Commissioner Sammy Farmer passed away in January. Commissioners say it’s unlikely Decker’s appointment will be rejected, as he was “duly elected” by voters.
