The City of San Angelo announced Tuesday that a person has been attempting to pose as a health inspector. The city says official health inspectors are required to carry city-issued identification when conducting inspections. The city asks business owners to ask for identification if someone claims to be an inspector but fails to present proper ID. If the person cannot provide valid credentials, business owners are asked to report the encounter to the Health Department at 325-657-4493. The crime of Impersonating Public Servant is a third-degree felony, punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
