An End To The Natural Gas Tax Law

President Donald Trump signed Congressman August Pfluger’s Congressional Review Act to end the natural gas tax into law on March 17. West Texas leads the country in crude oil production. Pfluger said the tax hurts energy producers in the Permian Basin and raises energy prices for every American consumer across the country.
“The Permian Basin produces 50% of the crude oil production throughout the United States,” Pfluger said. “We are the epicenter of energy.” The natural gas tax was implemented under the Biden administration to regulate methane emissions. Pfluger said that increasing costs is not the solution as domestic oil and gas producers are consistently innovating to reduce emissions.
