The San Angelo Police Department has released the identities of two individuals who died in separate vehicle crashes that occurred within days of each other.
According to the SAPD, the motorist involved in a crash near the intersection of North Bryant Boulevard and 6th Street on Friday, March 7, was 77-year-old Jerry Mills. Mills was driving a moped while traveling northbound on North Bryant Boulevard at around 8:52 p.m. when his vehicle “left the roadway and struck a curb, causing the driver to crash,” as per the department.
Mills was taken to Shannon Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The police department reported that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The SAPD identified the individual involved in the crash at the Crossings Avenue overpass on Sunday, March 9, as 55-year-old Jackey Davis. The department stated Davis was traveling southbound in the 400 block of South United States Highway 87 at approximately 10:55 a.m. “when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a concrete pillar.”
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
