A school voucher bill, which quickly sailed through the Senate, could come to the State House as soon as this week. Teachers are urging state lawmakers to look at the fiscal impact. Clay Robison with the Texas State Teacher’s Association says that would blow a hole in the budget. The version passed by the Senate would give parents about 12-thousand dollars to pull their kids from public school and send them to a private school. It’s unclear what the House version will look like. But the House Speaker believes it will pass
