In observance of Independence Day, city offices in San Angelo will be closed on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5. They will re-open on Monday, July 8. Even with the holiday closures, garbage collection and landfill operations will continue without interruption. Residents are reminded that shooting or possessing fireworks within city limits or within 5,000 feet of them is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $2,000. Also, Tom Green County is currently under a burn ban.
