A San Angelo man died in Brown County, Texas, on Sunday after losing control of his motorcycle, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
TxDPS stated that the crash happened on County Road 105, which is approximately 2 miles south of Grosvenor, Texas, at 2:33 p.m. on June 2.
A preliminary investigation conducted by TxDPS revealed that the driver of a 2001 Honda Shadow motorcycle was traveling south on Country Road 105 when he approached a sharp curve in the road. The motorcyclist applied the rear brake of the motorcycle, causing the rear wheel to skid.
The driver would lose control of the motorcycle, forcing it to lay over on its left side. The driver was vaulted off the motorcycle in the process and was fatally injured.
The motorcyclist was identified as 48-year-old Joseph Raymond Ogle of San Angelo.
The weather conditions at the time of the incident were considered clear, the road conditions were dry and the posted speed limit was 60 mph. Ogle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
