Instead of shutting down the border with Mexico, Texas business leaders are pushing for increased paths for more migration. Glenn Hamer, who heads the Texas Association of Business, used an immigration conference this week to push for visa reform. The idea is to expand the current free trade agreement with Mexico and Canada to allow for more people to legally live and work here. He says both parties agree that moving manufacturing to the United States is important, but that can’t happen without workers.
