San Angelo Downtown Lions Club is celebrating a milestone, a
century of serving San Angelo and the Concho Valley. Founded in 1923
as the San Angelo Lions Club, it was launched with 42 charter members
six years after the founding of Lions Clubs International. Today, in San Angelo,
there are eight Lions Clubs. Downtown Lions Club’s fundraising efforts are
centered around the annual golf tournament, this year scheduled for Saturday.
All the funds raised contribute to their charitable efforts, including many
